Inspired by the legacy of heirloom technologies like the Jacquard loom and punch card computation, Postknit translates codified knit language into personal messages through the creation of handmade knit artifacts. Messages sent from one friend to another are encoded into punch cards and decoded via a knitting machine. The design of the knitted artifact is inspired and created from the message itself which is only fully revealed with the completion of the last stitch.
